Welcome to
Vellichor and More

Vellichor and More is a business in which creativity takes many forms. What began several years ago as a woman selling paintings at local vendor events continues to transform into the multi-faceted business its founder, Jessica Pietro, has envisioned. Though still in the very early stages of construction, Jessica's goal is to turn Vellichor and More into a brand that helps other makers achieve their visions and find solid ground in this world of self-made creatives.

About Me

Hey there.

I'm Jessica Pietro, founder of Vellichor and More, and I'd like to welcome you to my site.

I am the wife of the most amazing and supportive husband a woman could ask for and a mom to a wonderful boy who, as I write this, has recently entered tenth grade. I run Vellichor and More at home while homeschooling my son. My husband runs his own construction company, and we are both truly blessed to be living out our dreams.

In recent years, I have spent time in the depths of the darkness that haunts all our souls. I have trudged through the muck on my hands and knees, poking and prodding at the traumas of my heart. This journey of self-understanding, discovery, and love has pierced through my creations in ways I never imagined it would. I have painted darkness, I have painted light, I have painted pain and fear and heartbreak. I have allowed myself to be stripped bare and laid out for all the world to see, and I am now writing a fantasy novel series where I continue to lay my heart exposed. Evidence of my journey is woven throughout the story as my characters learn to love, grow, and heal.

It is my hope that others who experience my craft will be captivated by my struggle, and that they will be left feeling vulnerable, seen and understood.

Some things that bring me joy: movie nights with my boys, creating, adventuring, my kitties, learning, sitting on my front porch chatting with friends, spending time with family, studying my bible, organizing, music, hiking, anime, kayaking, bubble baths, camping, board games, and sitting in a comfy seat with hot beverage and a good book.

I Am Me

I am an artist, painting the desires of my soul.

The universe is the landscape of my canvas, begging to experience my design.

I am the music that is the soundtrack to my life.

The rhythm that has forced my feet into motion.

The lyrics that have eaten away at my being,

carving trenches through the depths of my emotion.

I am the books I've explored.

The characters who have engaged me and changed me.

I am every story I've ever heard.

I am the people who have loved me.

I am intimacy.            I am passion.

I am cherished.

I am the friendships that have blessed me.

An echo of those special people who have touched my heart

and the ones who have broken it.

I am the trials that have strengthened me.

The lessons I've learned the hard way.

I am a journey of progression and regression.

I am the melody of the birds.

The wind in the trees at the top of a mountain.

The flames that dance and sway.

I am molded by the places I've been, the things I've seen,

and all the future adventures I have yet to experience.

I am a reckless dreamer. I am a fervent prayer.

I am the evolution of my spirit.

The ebb and flow of the waves.

I am wild.

The glittering of starlight.

I am the tears that have flooded my cheeks.

The grief. The trauma produced by this fallen world.

I am the joy of God's creation all around me.

I am beautiful.

I am happiness, love, laughter, and silliness.

I am darkness. I am light.

I am broken. I am healed.

I am fear. I am hope.

I am all of these things woven together.

I am me.
